Hydrangea Fairytrail Fresco – Cascading Hydrangea
SKU: n/a.$49.99
The First Cascading Hydrangea in Blue (or Pink)!
Fairytrail Fresco Cascading Hydrangea is the long-awaited colorful edition of the award-winning Cascade Hydrangeas series! Long weeping stems with bright blue to pink flowers bloom for months on this exceptional plant. As with the other varieties in the Fairytrail series, Fairytrail Fresco hydrangea sets flower buds at every leaf node, creating a luscious flower display resembling a garland of blooms. Foliage turns red in fall as a fun season extender. Fairytrail Fresco creates new uses for a wide variety of spaces, such as hanging baskets, cascading out of containers, and spilling over rocks and wall spaces. While it can be tricky to establish in the St. Louis area, it needs protection from winter winds and to be kept moist throughout the winter, its unique bloom and graceful nature make it worth the effort.
Plant in shade to part shade, morning sun with afternoon shade or dappled light is best. Add compost or other organic matter to the soil when planting. Use a starter fertilizer like Espoma Bio-tone Starter to get your plants off to a quick start. Keep well watered when establishing plants and when plants are setting up buds and blooming. It needs protection from harsh winter winds and to be kept moist throughout the winter. If planting in a container bright indoors after it goes dormant but before temperatures drop below 25.
