Hydrangea Can Do! – Reblooming Hydrangea
One look at Let’s Dance Can Do! Hydrangea tells you it’s beautiful – but there’s more to this innovative new Hydrangea than that. It has the unique ability to create flower buds along the entire length of the stem instead of only at the top. That means that even if winter does its worst and kills back a portion of the plant, there will still be flower buds to open in early summer.
Let’s Dance Can Do! also reblooms quicker than others: in other words, you won’t have to wait until fall to see the new flowers. Flowers are luscious strawberry pink in neutral/alkaline soils and lovely lavender in acidic ones.
Plant in shade to part shade, morning sun with afternoon shade or dappled light is best. Add compost or other organic matter to the soil when planting. Use a starter fertilizer like Espoma Bio-tone Starter to get your plants off to a quick start. Keep well watered when establishing plant, and when the plant is setting up buds and blooming, and during dry spells. Flowers will most likely be pink in the St. Louis area unless soil is amended with a soil acidifier like Espoma Soil Acidifier.
