Coveted for its glossy black leaves, it has the darkest foliage of almost all other perennials. Obsidian Coral Bell brings sophisticated elegance and a great contrast to lighter-colored plants. A color-changing masterpiece, its frilly leaves emerge burgundy red and then intensify to black. The evergreen leaves stay dark all season.  Its shiny leaves mature to tidy 8″ tall and 16″ wide mounds. Airy white flowers on 24″ stems float above the foliage. Hummingbirds can’t resist Coral Bell’s flowers, so expect to see them.

A garden designer’s favorite, Coral Bells’ superior mounded form and striking evergreen leaves make it ideal for containers and edging or for neat and tidy designs.

Plant in well-draining soil amended with organic matter. Coral Bells prefer morning sun, afternoon shade, or filtered light.
