Echinacea – SunSeekers Pumpkin Pie Coneflower
SKU: n/a.Bring fascinating flowers to your garden and vase with Pumpkin Pie Coneflower, Echinacea. Throughout summer and into fall, warm orange semi-double flowers decorate the garden. Its velvety layers of petals encircle nectar-rich orange cones. It attracts all kinds of pollinators, including butterflies and hummingbirds. It makes an excellent cut flower. Flowers are born on strong stems over large green mounds of foliage. These unique flowers look gorgeous in the garden and mixed bouquets. A sun-loving perennial.
A member of the outstanding SunSeekers series of Coneflowers. They stand out from others with their unique forms and colors. Their vibrant colors stay rich and don’t fade. SunSeeker Coneflowers have exceptional vigor, masses of flowers, and dense habit with short stems and dark green, narrow leaves.
Plant Coneflower, Echinacea, in full sun to part shade. Add a shovel full or two of organic matter to the soil when planting. Tolerant of drought, but for best blooming, keep well watered when plants are setting up bud and in bloom. Although they will bloom continually without deadheading, cutting back spent blooms will encourage more flowers. Coneflower seed heads are a favorite for dried flower arrangements and add considerable interest to winter landscapes. Goldfinches and other birds swarm to Coneflower seeds.
