Cornus – Cherokee Brave Dogwood Tree
SKU: n/a.Cherokee Brave Dogwood, Cornus florida, offers what most want in a plant- beauty, food for some of our favorite backyard friends, and the low maintenance ruggedness we expect from native cultivars. In spring, large flower bracts open a deep, intense red with white closer to the center. As the bract opens, the color fades to a delightful streaky pink. The internal flower cluster gives way to berries that are beloved by songbirds. In fall, green leaves turn brilliant scarlet. Host plant to the Blue Azure butterfly.
Designated a Plant of Merit by Missouri Botanical Gardens for its ornamental value and ruggedness in the landscape.
