Cladrastis – Perkins Pink Yellowwood
A pink-flowering form of the exceptional Missouri native tree, Perkins Pink Yellowwood, Cladrastis kentukea, is a perfect choice for an easy-to-grow decorative midsize tree. In spring, sweetly fragrant panicles of soft pink pea-shaped flowers cover the tree. Bright green leaves look beautiful against the smooth gray bark. In fall, leaves turn bright shades of golden yellow. This showy multi-seasonal tree creates a wide canopy perfect for shading patios, yards, and gardens.
Plant Yellowwood in full-sun locations with well-drained soil. Keep well watered for the first few years to encourage vigorous root growth.
