Cercis – Pink Pom Poms Redbud Tree
If you adore our Missouri native Redbud, get ready to fall in love again once you see Pink Pom Poms Redbud Tree, Cercis. Utterly fascinating, one-of-a-kind, fully double, pink flower clusters, looking like mini pink pom poms, emerge in spring and are followed by large, green, heart-shaped foliage. Another outstanding feature is that this plant will not produce seed pods. It was developed by the JC Raulston Arboretum at NC State University.
A small tree, Pink Pom Poms Redbud only grows about 12′ tall and wide. This petite size makes it a fun and interesting choice as a garden specimen. It also works great as a foundation plant.
Plant Redbud in sun to part shade in average to well-drained soils. In drier locations, Redbud will be happier with some afternoon shade.
