Living under our feet is a microbial world of fungus and bacteria that is as interesting as it is diverse. Okay, Okay, interesting may be a stretch, but it is important to the health of something that is interesting-our favorite plants. Just like we’ve learned about the good bacteria in our bodies, these fungi and bacteria are essential components to a healthy plant. Mycorrohizae are fungi that have a symbiotic relationship with plants. In fact about 95% of all plants use this relationship to help build roots, absorb essential nutrients and in some cases communicate from plant to plant.
When we disturb the soil, whether it be from new construction or planting, we are harming these delicate fungi and bacteria that call the soil home. Using fertilizers that contain Bio-tone reintroduces these microbes back into disturbed soils, helping your plants become established faster. This helps you because plants planted with Bio-Tone are generally healthier, more tolerant of drought and other environmental stress, and more robust producing larger flowers.
