One of the tallest Astilbe in the world, Mighty Pip Astilbe tops out at a towering 48″ tall. Fluffy rosy pink flower plumes top deep green ferny foliage. Striking as a shady hedge or focal point. A top choice for containers, cut flowers, and the back of the border. One of the largest Astilbes available. It looks lovely in shady woodland gardens. It’s fantastic in formal beds, cottage, pollinator, and cutting gardens. An excellent performer and Sugar Creek staff favorite that comes highly recommended.
Astilbe works well massed or grouped in shady gardens. Spectacular landscapes can be created by using it in serpentine patterns. With its strong contrasting foliage, Astilbe and Hosta planted together are a match made in heaven. Astilbe attracts butterflies and other pollinators. Deer and rabbits leave it alone.
Plant in shade to part shade locations. Keep well watered, especially when plants are setting up buds and blooming, for best blooming.
