Astilbe – Go Go Red Reblooming False Spirea
SKU: n/a.$17.99
Brilliant ruby blossoms rebloom, the first Red Reblooming Astilbe!
A profuse bloomer, Go Go Red Reblooming False Spirea, Astilbe, brings large fluffy ruby red plumes first in late spring and early summer. But that’s not all! This gem surprises us with more blossoms from fall until a hard frost. Spectacular in flower, the fuzzy blossoms rise above its attractive mound of ferny foliage. This exceptionally robust variety brings the one characteristic most other Astilbe lack: the ability to rebloom. Its emerald green, glossy leaves always look beautiful, turning loving colors in fall, with the leaves lasting into winter. With its graceful form and brilliant color, this great Reblooming Astilbe brings class and sophistication to any garden.
Extremely versatile, use Go Go Red Reblooming False Spirea in containers, as a long blooming ground cover, to line walkways and gardens, in cutting, woodland, cottage, and pollinator gardens, or as a shinning specimen plant. As long as it is given adequate water, it is easy to grow, needing little maintenance. Astilbe attracts butterflies. Deer and rabbits leave it alone. Wonderful cut flower.
Plant in part to full shade in soil that has been amended with organic mater. They prefer moist soil. Adding a top dressing of mulch will help hold water in the soil. Keep well watered when first planted, when the plant is setting up buds and blooming, and during dry spells. To encourage more blooming, cut back spent flowers.
