Asplenium antiquum Hurricane – Bird’s Nest Fern
Love ferns but don’t love how finicky they are? Try the extremely twisty and easy-to-grow Hurricane Bird’s Nest Fern, Asplenium antiquum. Thick soft green leaves spin together to look like a hurricane. This showy fern with blow you away!

Plant in well-draining, good potting soil. Fertilize plants occasionally when they are actively growing, usually April through Aug, following the fertilizer manufacturer’s directions. Keep plants consistently moist, but not sopping wet. Plants will require less water during fall and winter months. When watering water around the edges of the plant so as not to cause crown rot. Plants prefer warm temperatures and should not be moved outdoors until night temperatures are at least 60 degrees or more. Keep in bright indirect light or under a grow light.
