Acer – Tamukeyama Japanese Maple
SKU: n/a.With lacy red leaves that hold their color better than other varieties, Tamukeyama Japanese Maple, Acer, creates a stunning centerpiece in the garden. Leaves emerge bright red and linger to a deep burgundy as summer progresses. In fall leaves turn screaming red, standing out in the landscape. This slow-growing weeping form tree creeps up 6-8′ tall at maturity.
Use Tamukeyama Japanese Maple as a focal point in shady perennial gardens, in Japanese gardens, framing doorways, or as a stand-alone spectacular specimen. Crimson Queen’ is noted for its excellent leaf color retention throughout the growing season. Small reddish flowers in spring give way to samaras, which ripen in late summer to early fall. Like many maples, the flowers are rather attractive close-up.
Plant in sun to part shade locations in soil amended with compost. Keep well watered until established and during dry spells.
