Thuja Green Giant, Arborvitae

Block unsightly views, noisy neighbors, or strong winds with this fast growing evergreen beauty.

Green Giant Arborvitae, Thuja, has fast become a top selection due to its lush evergreen foliage and its vigorous, fast-growing growth, shooting up by as much as 3-4′ per year until maturity. Its lovely natural pyramidal form adds majestic grace to the landscape. Green Giant Arbovitae matures to 30-60′ tall.

An exceptional landscape tree, Green Giant makes an ideal choice for a dense screen or as a single specimen. Once established, it holds up to strong winds, and heavy ice and snow making it an effective natural windbreak. Green Giant Arborvitae grows well in most soils from sandy loam to heavy clay. It tolerates heat and humidity, and has no serious pests or disease problems.

For a dense screen, plant trees 5-10′ apart. It can be used as a hedge, but will need to be heavily pruned each year to maintain its shape. Green Giant Arborvitae produces 1/2″ oblong cones that emerge green and mature to brown.
