Viburnum prunifolium, Blackhaw Viburnum
A tough, beautiful Missouri native shrub Blackhaw Viburnum is as stunning as it is hardy. Glossy green foliage forms thickly on tall shrubs. In spring large white flower clusters bloom that are loved by butterflies. Summer gives way to red berries that slowly turn black as fall comes. Berries are popular food source in fall and winter for our native songbirds. The shiny foliage turns deep red before dropping off in winter.
Perfect for privacy hedges, softening corners of homes or as a backdrop in the garden. Awarded the Plant of Merit award from the Missouri Botanical Gardens for its exceptional ornamental value and outstanding performance in the garden.
