Sisyrinchium angustifolium Lucerne, Blue-Eyed Grass
A cutie pie from Lucerne Switzerland, Lucerne Blue-Eyed Grass, Sisyrinchium angustifolium, charms with many 3/4″ vivid blue flowers with bright gold centers from late spring into early summer. Its fine, semi-evergreen, iris like foliage always looks neat making it ideal for edging. Flowers open in sun and close at night. The flowers are followed by large dangling seed pods.
After blooming, plants can be tided up by cutting back. Blue-Eyed Grass prefers consistently moist, well-drained soils in full sun or part shade. Deer resistant.
