Salvia Caramia Sage
2020 PERENNIAL OF THE YEAR
For months on end Caramia Meadow Sage, Salvia, brings striking dark stems with violet-purple flowers. Its erect flower stalks stand tall, never flopping like other varieties. From late spring through summer its waves of beautiful flowers keep coming. A long-lived perennial that is easy to grow, and drought tolerant, standing up in the hottest summers. Deer and rabbit resistant. Fragrant foliage. Excellent for cutting.
A fantastic plant for flower beds, edging, containers, cutting and pollinator gardens. Fantastic in mass plantings and for replacing annuals in large beds. Being long-lived and a profuse bloomer makes it an ideal choice in areas you don’t want to replant year after year.
Plant in full sun to light shade and well-drained soil. Although drought tolerant, for best blooming keep consistently watered. Removing spent flowers will encourage more blooms. A hard shear in late summer will rejuvenate plants for a fresh fall bloom.
