SKU: n/a.A delightful, easy to grow Missouri and Illinois native perennial, Shining Black-eyed Susan, Rudbeckia fulgida, brings prolific bright yellow daisy-like flowers that surround a dark purplish center over a long time from July into October. It tolerates many soil conditions and drought. Deer resistant. Excellent cut flower and dried flower. Extremely disease resistant, its foliage stays healthy green all season. Breathtaking in large sweeps, it makes a perfect choice for naturalized areas, working beautifully with its native companions Blazing Stars, Coneflowers, Turtleheads, and more. A top selection for rain, butterfly, and native gardens, perennial beds, or for the cut flower garden.
An important food source, it feeds butterflies and hummingbirds with its nectar, then in the winter birds with its seeds.
Plant in full sun and average, well-drained soil. It tolerates many soil conditions including dry and poor. Deadheading spent flowers will prolong blooming.
