Polygonatum biflorum – Solomon’s Seal
A Missouri native woodland perennial, Solomon’s Seal, Polygonatum biflorum, adds an elegant element to shade gardens with its graceful, arching stems. Excellent woodland plants whose vertical stems contrast well against the rounded shapes of Hosta and ferns. Dangling greenish yellow flowers are followed by showy blue-black berries in fall. Prefers moist, woodland-type soil. Works well among trees and shrubs. Fabulous in flower arrangements.
Plant in shade to part shade in soil that has been amended with organic matter.
