Picea Dwarf Alberta Spruce Spiral Topiary
Shrubs or small trees for all seasons, Dwarf Alberta Spruce, Picea glauca Conica, feature beautiful, evergreen blue-green needles. Plants have an attractive conical shape. Fantastic as topiaries, they can be trained into many forms. These plants have been trimmed into spirals.
Plants are very slow growing, putting on only 2-4″ a year. Over time they mature to 10-13′. They work well in containers, withstanding the coldest of winters. Deer resistant.
Plant in full sun in soil that has been amended with organic matter. Fertilizing will encourage new growth. If grown in containers, use a good potting soil and fertilize following manufacturer’s instructions. Prune the shrub to maintain the spiral shape.
