Pennisetum Desert Plains Fountain Grass
Considered the best fountain grass available, Desert Plains Pennisetum stuns with huge plumes. The finely textured, narrow, green leaves form a beautiful upright vase-shaped clump. Beginning in midsummer, the tips of the foliage begin to turn deep red and the entire clump transitions to shades of orange and gold in fall. Showy 5” bottlebrush plumes held above the foliage emerge smoky purple and age to tan.
Fountain Grass matures into a stately landscape plant that thrives in hot sun, and is drought tolerant once established. Deer and rabbit resistant.
Plant in full sun. For best blooming keep well watered, especially when budding and in bloom. Easy to grow. Cut back in late winter
