Low-growing, sprawling plants only grow 3-6″ tall. Its prolific huge cup-shaped bright yellow flowers appear for months from March all the way into October. Evening Sun Missouri Evening Primrose flowers open in the afternoon and bloom throughout the night, attracting butterflies and months. Also known as Night Candles due to its glowing blossoms. Stunning winged 2-3″ seed pods follow, creating another amazing display. Its long roots that grow deep into the soil make it extremely drought-tolerant. Deer resistant.
Use Evening Sun Evening Primrose in perennial, pollinator, rain, rock, native, and butterfly gardens. It makes a fantastic blooming groundcover in banks and slopes or as an edger. An ideal perennial that can take the place of annuals for season-long bloom. Absolutely glows in containers. Easy to grow and tolerant of a wide range of soil types. Very low maintenance and drought tolerant once established.
Plant Missouri Evening Primrose in full sun to light shade. Very easy to grow, they are not particular about soil and will tolerate poor soil. Due to its long tap root it does not like to be moved.
