Bred in New Zealand by revered Magnolia breeder Vance Hooper, Magnolia Tinkerbelle delights with vibrant blooms that can repeat flower and a compact columnar shape. With its narrow shape and abundance of blooms Tinkerbelle is a perfect choice for a small garden or narrow border. Sumptuous blooms, in the deepest rich-red, have a very formal, sculpted, chalice shape and are produced on terminal shoots and spur tips. In optimal conditions a secondary bloom also appears, as does a second flowering in mid-summer, to early autumn.
Plant Magnolia Tinkerbelle in sun to part shade in slightly acidic, moist, fertile well-drained soils. Amend with compost when planting and keep well watered. Fertilize with a fertilizer specifically for acid-loving plants like Holly-Tone.
