Liriodendron tulipifera – Tulip Tree
SKU: n/a.A stately native tree, the Tulip Tree, Liriodendron tulipifera, rises from a large upright trunk to form into a large, but tidy, pyramid. Large star soft green leaves turn brilliant gold in fall. Showy flowers of yellow with orange markings resemble tulips and appear in spring after the tree has leafed out for the season.
An easy to care for tree, and relatively fast-growing. Tulip Tree is ideal for use as a large shade tree. Host plant to the Easter Tiger Swallowtail butterfly.
Plant in full sun to part shade. Tulip Tree easily grow in moist well-drained soil. Keep well watered when plants are establishing, when trees are setting up buds and blooming, and during dry spells.
