Iris cristata – Crested Iris
A delightful Missouri native perennial, Crested Iris, Iris cristata, fills the garden with lovely light blue flowers in spring. Its thick, pointed leaf blades grow 6″ tall. It makes an excellent ground cover in shady areas.
Plant in the shade to part shade areas in soil that has been amended with organic matter. Although drought tolerant, for best results, water during dry spells.
