Hydrangea Limelight Prime Panicle Hydrangea
An improved version of the classic, Limelight Prime Panicle Hydrangea features white fluffy flowers that dry to a vivid raspberry. Perfect for use as an easy hedge, accent in the back of garden, along houses or anywhere an easy-care shrub is needed. Grows 4-6′ tall and wide.
How do you improve Limelight Hydrangea? Limelight Prime Hydrangea shares all the same qualities that made the original a so beloved, while also offering:
- A denser, more compact habit that creates a lush, full look in the landscape
- An earlier bloom time
- Better flower color, from its early summer green phase all the way through autumn’s red and pink tones
- Strong, sturdy stems that won’t flop over, even under the weight of enormous blooms
- A smaller size that works perfectly for home landscapes and gardens
Use in perennial gardens, in front of the house landscapes, as a low hedge, in containers, or anywhere you want brilliant color and fascinating flowers.
Plant in full sun to part shade in soil that has been amended with compost. Apply a starter fertilizer or an all purpose fertilizer when planting, we use Starter with Bio Tone Organic Fertilizer. Fertilizing consistently will give you best results. Stop fertilizing in late summer. Although fancy pruning is not needed, Panicle Hydrangeas bloom on the current season’s growth. They can be pruned in late winter to early spring. You can cut them back to the ground, or if you want taller plants cut them back to 1-3′ feet.
Offered in-house. Subject to availability.
