Heliopsis Asahi False Sunflower
Reap armloads of sunny yellow, pompoms for months with Asahi False Sunflower, Heliopsis. A profuse bloomer, its long stems produce hoards of large, frilly flowers all summer into fall. Its brilliant flowers make lovely bouquets fresh and dried. A hybrid of our beloved native, yet with double the petals.
Asahi False Sunflower blooms for a long time, usually June through September. False Sunflower grows about 2-3′ tall.
Easy to grow in full sun. It is not fussy about soil, and thrives even in the hottest of summers. Even though it is tolerant of drought, watering during the driest days will keep the flowers coming. Dead heading plants will encourage more flowering. Beautiful in the garden and containers.
Plant in full sun, around 6 hours of sun a day.
