Geranium maculatum, Hardy Geranium
Not to be confused with the annual Geraniums, Hardy Geranium, Geranium maculatum, brings ornamental foliage and flowers to natural areas. A delightful Missouri native wildflower for the shady woodland garden it features bright lilac pink saucer shaped blossoms. Flowers appear in spring and are followed by interesting pointy seed heads that look like a cranes bill. Attractive, deeply cut, lobed leaves create uniform mounds 24″ tall and 18″ wide. Plants prefer moist soil, but tolerate drought and poor soils. Plants go dormant in early summer. Also know as Cranesbill.
