Delphinium Diamonds Blue, Larkspur
Few plants can give us the radiant blue of Diamond’s Blue Larkspur, Delphinium. Low, bushy mounds of lacy green leaves bear loose sprays of single blooms all summer long in a gorgeous electric blue shade featuring a purple spot on each petal. Ideal for containers mixed with other colorful plants or on its own.
Diamonds Blue tolerates hot, humid weather better than older varieties. Technically a perennial, yet here in St. Louis we treat it as an annual, enjoying its beautiful color for just one season.
Plant in a bright sunny location that gets a a break from the hot afternoon sun. Removing spent flowers will encourage more blooming.
