You’ll be enjoying masses of sapphire blue flowers for months with Sapphire Indigo Clematis. True to its name, this jewel’s long lasting 5″ indigo ink blossoms fade to deep blue. Even Sapphire Indigo Clematis’ centers are elegant with intricate dark purple to black anthers. A continuous profusion of blossoms appear June – September. It can be trained as a climber, or grown as a shrubby, weed smothering ground cover with no support. Sapphire Indigo Clematis looks fabulous spilling over walls and also makes a fantastic hanging basket. Growing to a height of 4′ on a trellis, or 3′ tall and 3′ wide as a shrub. It grows well in either full sun or partial shade. And if all that wasn’t enough, it is very low maintenance, needing no pruning.
