Cladrastis kentukea, Yellowwood
A underappreciated and extremely ornamental Missouri native tree, the Yellowwood, Cladrastis kentukea, is a perfect choice for a decorative and easy to grow midsize to large specimen. In spring penduals of sweetly fragrant white flowers bloom. Compound leaves of bright green turn shades of gold in fall. This showy multi seasonal tree forms in a wide canopy which is perfect for shading patios and yards.
Awarded the Plant of Merit award from the Missouri Botanical Gardens for its exceptional ornamental value and outstanding performance in the garden.
