Cercis Oklahoma Redbud
Prized for is glossy leaves and intensely colored flowers Oklahoma Redbud, Ceris canadensis var. texesis, stands out in the landscape. Vibrant purple buds open to raspberry pink flowers in April. Deep green heart shaped leaves are considerably shinier and richer in color than the native plant. Grows 12-18′ tall and wide.
Fantastic as a specimen, focal point for a garden, along woodlands and in lawns. It works well in front of homes where a small, decorative ornamental tree is needed.
Plant in full sun to light shade. Keep well watered until established. The trees benefit from occasional fertilizing and deep watering during dry spells.
