Brunnera – Alexandria Bugloss
An absolutely magnificent plant, Alexandria Bugloss, Brunnera, brings large heart shaped leaves of silvery white. Its silver leaves look like a master silversmith created a treasure right in the middle of the garden. Its shiny leaves are perfectly outlined in emerald green. In spring tiny true blue flowers bloom in airy sprays over the newly emerging foliage.
We treasure Brunnera for their delightful flowers, fantastic foliage, and shade tolerance. They make a showy ground cover, brighten dark corners, look lovely with woodland plants, and mix beautifully with other shade lovers in containers.
Plant in soil that has been amended with organic matter in part shade locations. Prefers moist soil but tolerant of many conditions. Also known as Alkanet.
