Astilbe Ice Cream False Spirea
Ice Cream Astilbe features brilliant fluffy pink flowers. A drop dead gorgeous variety, its cool pink blossoms appear in mid and late summer. Its scented flower plumes top deep green ferny foliage. A top choice for containers, cut flowers, and mass plantings. It looks lovely in shady woodland gardens, in formal beds, and cottage, pollinator, and cutting gardens.
Astilbe works well massed or grouped in shady gardens. Spectacular landscapes can be created by using them in serpentine patterns. With its strong contrasting foliage Asilbe and Hosta planted together is a match made in heaven. Astilbe attracts butterflies and other pollinators. Deer and rabbits leave Astilbe alone.
Plant in shade to part shade locations. For best blooming keep well watered especially when plants are setting up buds and blooming.
