Anemone Spring Beauty Pink Windflower
From the Netherlands comes Spring Beauty Pink a brand new type of Anemone. A hybrid of Anemone sylvestris, its bubblegum pink flowers will encourage you to get in the garden to enjoy its beautiful blossoms. Extremely long blooming, it flowers first appear in spring and continue throughout summer. Delicate looking, but extremely tough, its perfectly pink flowers flutter in the wind attracting all the early pollinators with its nectar. Its emerald leaves mature into attractive mounds.
Growing only 12″ tall and 15″ wide makes the compact plant perfect for smaller gardens, and for the front of the border. It tolerates considerable shade. It looks beautiful in woodland settings and mixed with other perennials in cottage, cutting, and pollinator gardens. It spreads by underground rhizomes and can be used as a ground cover. New plants may grow near the original plant and can be easily transplanted elsewhere.
Plant Anemone in soil that has been amended with organic mater in part shade. Its ideal condition is dappled shade protected from the afternoon sun, yet it will also grow in full shade. Although once established drought tolerant, for best results water during dry spells, and when plants are setting up buds and blooming.
