Anemone Little Summer Breeze Windflower
One of the longest blooming Anemones, Little Summer Breeze begins its beautiful show of flowers in mid-summer, considerably earlier than most. Only growing to 10″ tall it is the shortest Anemone currently available. This perennial produces dark pink flowers that are positioned right above a small mound of green foliage.
Growing only 10″ tall and wide makes this compact plant perfect for containers, smaller gardens, and for front of the border. It looks beautiful in woodland settings and mixed with other shade perennials in cottage, cutting, and pollinator gardens. Deer and rabbits leave it alone, butterflies, bees and other pollinators often visit it. Referred to commonly as Windflower. New plants may grow near the original plants and can be easily transplanted elsewhere. Anemones prefer spring transplanting.
Plant in soil that has been amended with compost or organic mater in part shade to sun. Its ideal condition is dappled shade protected from the afternoon sun. If planted in full sun it will need consistent watering. Adding a starter fertilizer at planting will encourage root growth. Although once established drought tolerant, for best results water during dry spells, and when plants are setting up buds and blooming. Better still, keep consistently moist.
Available in-house. Subject to availability.
