Allium – White Giant Ornamental Onion
SKU: n/a.$9.99
Largest White Ornamental Onion
Create a whimsical display with White Giant Ornamental Onion, Allium. It brings fun and dramatic beauty to the garden with its huge 6-8″ globes of snow-white star-shaped florets. The flower clusters rise on stiff 36-48″ stems amid thick, strap-like foliage. White Giant Ornamental Onion’s stunning blossoms can create unforgettable flower arrangements. As its foliage fades, its round orbs dry on the plant, giving you months of fascinating dried flowers. Its showy flowers last for months in dried arrangements. Flowers appear in late spring to early summer.
White Giant Ornament Onion will naturalize if given space. In the garden, in a vase as a dried flower, or as a shiny Christmas decoration, White Giant Allium delights us in so many ways.
Growing instructions: Plant potted plants in average soil in sun to light shade. Clay soil should be amended with compost or other organic matter. Plant new bulbs 1-2 times bulb diameter deep and 8″ apart. Bulbs may be divided in late summer through early fall after the foliage has died down.
Fun tip: Dried flower heads left in the garden or cut for arrangements can be spray-painted for artsy, colorful displays. Try spraying yours purple, red, or gold for a sparkly addition to your holiday arrangements.
