Alcea – Radiant Rose Hollyhock
From world-class German breeders comes the irresistibly charming Radiant Rose Hollyhock, Alcea. Brilliant rose-pink flowers on sturdy stalks appear in summer. This variety is genuinely perennial, not biennial like other Hollyhocks. The plant grows 5-6′ tall, 24″ wide, and prefers full sun. Butterflies and hummingbirds adore it. Its giant, spectacularly colored flowers create a solid wall of cheer. It makes delightful cut flowers.
A member of the outstanding Spotlight Series of Alcea. For over 18 years, breeders worked to develop a consistent strain of stable, straight color, single-flowered Hollyhocks. Their hard work paid off with the Alcea rosea Spotlight Series.
Unlike other Hollyhocks that are short-lived, Radiant Rose Hollyhock is perennial.
Plant in full sun. Add a shovel full or two of organic matter when planting. Mulch. For best results, keep well watered, especially when the plant is setting up buds, blooming, and during dry spells.
