A small, but spectacular Japanese Maple, Ukigumo delights with its multi-colored changing leaves. Small star-shaped leaves emerge with a strong white variegation. Some years it will emerge and stay white for a long time, weather depending. As the temperatures rise more green and pink emerge, adding a psychedelic tie-dye effect. In fall leaves turn a bright orange, ending this breathtaking show on a high noted before going to dormant for the winter. Ukigumo translates to Floating Cloud.
