'Tis the season for Japanese Beetles

A prepared gardener is a good gardener!  We carry Milky Spore, Japanese Beetle Traps, insect sprays, and more.

One of our all-time favorite products for fighting fungus, disease, and insects -- including Japanese Beetles! -- is Bayer All-in-One Rose & Flower Care.

Our 20% off everything sale starts this Friday -- but YOU can shop two days early for the best selection!

June is a great time to start a new perennial bed or fill in holes in an existing bed.  And it's also a great time to buy -- our 20% off everything sale kicks off Friday, June 19, but our V.I.G. and e-mail newsletter customers can shop two days early for the best selection.  Starting Wednesday, June 17, come in and save 20% off everything in the nursery: shrubs, roses, compost, gift shop items, bird baths, annuals, and perennials.

Happy gardening!

We've got two of the hottest new shade shrubs -- Kolkwitzia
'Dream Catcher' and
Weigela 'Ghost.'

See pictures and read more about them here.

Join us Thursday evening for our Monarch Mania garden party

Are you interested in attracting hummingbirds, butterflies, birds, and other wildlife to your garden? Join us for an informative (and free!) talk Thursday, June 18, at 6 p.m.  And it's a party!  Starting at 5 p.m., enjoy wine, punch, and snacks while you shop.

What's so cool about 'Redshift' Coreoposis?

It's a new cold-hardy coreopsis that changes colors throughout the season --wow! The flowers evolve through a rainbow of yellows, reds, burgundy, and pinks, ending the season a creamy yellow.  The colors are temperature sensitive, so as the summer progresses, you'll see a variety of shades, sometimes all at once.

This beauty is about 2' tall and wide, and needs full sun with well-drained soil.  Deadheading the flowers will extend the show.

Now at Sugar Creek Gardens in 1-gallon containers for $9.99.

Don't miss our $1, $3, $5 plant sale!

It was such a hit last summer, we're doing it again. A selection of hostas, roses, clematis, perennials, and annuals are priced to sell so we can make some room.  Shop early for the best selection.

For the discriminating plant collector: Scabiosa 'Beaujolais Bonnets'

This dark burgundy beauty is unlike any pincushion flower you've seen before.  Almost 2' tall, 'Beaujolais Bonnets' is lush, fragrant, and spectacular.

Flowers best in full sun and makes a great dried flower.

Attracts butterflies, and makes an unusual container plant, too.

Available at Sugar Creek Gardens in a full, 1-gallon pot for $8.99.

Fertilize like the professionals: Use Miracle Gro Bloom Booster

Annuals, roses, repeat-blooming hydrangeas, and all perennials will benefit with regular applications of Miracle Gro Bloom Booster.  Apply 1/2 strength every week, or full strength every two weeks.
